RPL Application Procedure applies to NCEF/PEAI Level 1 Graduates 1987-2006 or those with equivalent qualifications:

Previously qualified NCEF Level 1 Instructors (or those with equivalent qualifications) are eligible to apply for entry on to any module within the Diploma in Exrercise and Health Fitness through the NCEF/UL RPL Scheme by completing a NCEF/UL Portfolio of Learning.

This Portfolio of Learning (POL) must be completed on an official NCEF/UL Portfolio Form and it should clearly detail your existing qualifications and background based on your previous learning and experience in the Health/Fitness Industry.

Please note that their is a different Portfolio of Learing for each module within the Diploma in Exercise and Health Fitness

These POL forms are available from NCEF Head Office or may be downloaded at the bottom of this page or alternatively you can contact the NCEF Head Office at ncef@ul.ie

Please ensure that when applying for entry onto any module within the Diploma in Exercise and Health Fitness you submit:

• A generic NCEF/UL Application Form for the specific module being applied for e.g. Personal Training Specialist Module, Children’s Specialists Module– specifying in the appropriate space provided if they wish to apply for the recognition of their prior learning.
• A Portfolio of Learning Form (POL) which includes a detailed report of learning and work experience in the Health & Fitness Industry and any other area that is particularly relevant to the module being applied for (e.g. Personal Training). Please ensure that you attach any requested documentaion with your POL such as written references and copies of your certificates. Applications will not be processeed if POL is incomplete.
• A cost of €125 applies to ALL Portfolio of Learning applicants however if successful this fee is then deducted from the cost of overall programme fees. Please submit the fee with initial application.
