Steve
Barrett
Steve Barrett has had a career in the fitness industry spanning 20years.
A former National Athlete and Aerobic Champion, he has worked within many
areas of the fitness industry ranging from health club management, design/build
and equipment sales. His role within Reebok as a Consultant requires him
to advise them on future trends and issues relating to the fitness industry.
As a Global Reebok Master Trainer, he has enjoyed both the practical side
of the industry teaching Worldwide as well as a marketing role. He has
written for many sport and fitness related publications on the subjects
of motivation, athletic performance and sports specific training. Steve
also operates as a Personal Trainer to a select number of clients in and
around the City of Bath.
Sarah
Keogh
Sarah Keogh is a Consultant Dietitian based at the Albany Clinic in Dublin.
She has a degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Trinity College,
Dublin, a Masters in European Food Legislation and has worked in both
Ireland and in the UK in clinical dietetics. She was head of the Department
of Nutrition and Dietetics at the Bon Secours Hospital in Dublin for four
years and now runs her own nutrition consultancy where she sees clients
on an individual basis. She specialises in weight management and related
problems, bowel disorders and optimising nutrition for health. Sarah also
works with industry, helping to develop new products and nutrition technologies
and with government bodies in developing nutrition guidelines and information
resources.
John
Doran
John is a member of the Defence Forces and works as a Physical Training
Instructor at the Defence Forces Physical Education School (DFPES) in
the Curragh, he instructs in Military Style Circuit Training and Combat
Fitness, Readiness Training Classes for Military Courses at the DFPES.
He is also the Health & Safety Officer (NISO and Ergo Consulting Qualified)
at the school and specialises in Ergonomics, Kinetic Lifting and Back
Care. In the past he has served as an Infantry Drill Instructor for 10
years with the 3rd Infantry Battalion and has served Overseas with the
United Nations in Lebanon and Cyprus.
John
has been an NCEF Tutor since 1999 and facilitates on the NCEF Certificate
Programme at the Maltings Health & Fitness Club in Portlaoise, Co
Laoise.
Siobhan
Marren
Siobhán Marren has a B.Ed and M Sc in Exercise and Health Science.
She is an NCEF tutor and primary school teacher. Siobhan tutors on the
NCEF Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness, NCEF Health Related
Activity for Children, NCEF Personal Training Specialist Link- In Unit
and on the NCEF Tutor Education Programme. Siobhan has over 20 years of
exercise experience working with children and adults.
Linda
Bracken
Linda Bracken NCEF T, PT, SMTh, Children’s Specialist, STOTT Pilates
Advanced Level Instructor
Linda
started in the fitness industry in 1994 as an NCEF Instructor working
in gyms and leisure centres. She went on to further qualify as an NCEF
Level 2 Personal Trainer, Tutor, Children’s Specialist and as a
certified instructor Advanced Level Stott, She has been tutoring and coordinating
NCEF programmes of study in Limerick since 1997 and is also a certified
Sports Injuries Therapist, and has been actively involved in tutoring
the treatment of sports injuries. Her specialist areas also include Exercise
to Music, Hip Hop, Pilates and Stability ball work.
Aria
Ungerer
Aria is a yoga instructor and yoga therapist and has been practicing yoga
and meditation since 1995. She runs the Unity Yoga Center in Cork city
and is a faculty member of the Contemporary Yoga teacher-training course.
Her teaching style is practical and down to earth and she aims to make
the traditional tools of yoga such as postures, breathing techniques,
chanting and meditation accessible and fun for people of all backgrounds.
