Progress your fitness instructor qualification Certificate to Diploma (DEHF) or Degree (Bsc.) Level
If you hold the Certificate in Exercise and Health Fitness (or equivalent) then continue your education by completing the Diploma in Exercise and Health Fitness (DEHF) NFQ Level 7. The purpose of the DEHF is to provide an opportunity for aspiring exercise & health fitness professionals to follow a pathway from certificate at NFQ Level 6 to diploma at NFQ Level 7 by accumulating European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits on a stage by stage basis.

The National Council for Exercise and Fitness (NCEF), in association with the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences (PESS) of the Faculty of Education and Health Sciences (EHS) at the University of Limerick (UL) are delighted to announce the submission of the B.Sc Exercise & Health Fitness Degree to the UL academic process. This B.Sc (Level 8) programme will provide an extension to the existing Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness (CEHF [Level 6]) and Diploma in Exercise Health Fitness (DEHF [Level 7]) (Click on PDF for full proposed pathway). This is a very exciting development for UL/NCEF Graduates as it is a unique opportunity to further your qualifications and to continue to maintain your Continuing Professional Development.
Programme Design:The design of these modules and their support teaching and learning materials have significant potential for further development in the area of distance learning. Excellence and relevance are strong guiding factors in the planning, teaching, assessment and evaluation of these modules as are the principles of accountability and inclusiveness.

Financial Management in Exercise & Health Fitness (6 ECTS)
Public Relations & Marketing in Exercise & Health Fitness (6 ECTS)

The ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Certificate in Exercise
& Health Fitness (CEHF) or equivalent
2. Diploma in Exercise & Health Fitness or equivalent.
3.
OFA Occupational First Aid (OFA) is an NCEF & industry requirement.
4. Experience:
Minimum two years practical experience working in the Health/Leisure/Fitness industry
or in an area relevant to the role of an NCEF Tutor
5. Knowledge: Broad knowledge
base of Certificate/Diploma in Exercise & Health Fitness modules 6. Attitudes and
personal qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and mature
position.
7. Interview: Applicants maybe required to attend for interview. Interviews
are generally held in late spring/early summer.
The NCEF have commenced processing
applications for the 2011/2012 Academic Year.
