Q14. How do I recertify?

Graduates of the NCEF Level 1 from 1987-2006 were awarded the National Certificate in Exercise & Fitness Level 1 by the Physical Education Association of Ireland. All recipients of that award within those years have been required to recertify their qualification every five years by accumulating Continuing Education Credits (CEC’s). Q15. How do I become a member of the NCEF National Register (NNR)?
To join the National Register of Health and Fitness Professionals, download the NCEF National Register (NNR) Form complete and return to the NCEF Head Office with registration fee of €45. Download NNR FORM
Alternatively complete the Online Application below and click on the SUBSCRIBE button to pay with credit card through PAYPAL. Please note there is an additional €2.50 administration charge for PAYPAL transactions.

Q16. I am looking to set up my own exercise/fitness classes in my community hall. Can you please advise me on how I go about obtaining insurance cover.
Holistic Insurance Services are pleased to advise that they have developed a new insurance scheme with NCEF to benefit all Health & Fitness Professionals who are members of the NCEF National Register.

About Holistic Insurance Services:
Holistic Insurance Services was formed in 2002 to specialise in providing insurance cover for fitness professionals and complementary therapists. We now insure over 15,000 instructors and therapists from a variety of Associations and disciplines.

The policy cover:
The basic policy includes the following covers for your business:

• Malpractice and Professional Liability
• Public/Products Liability
• Legal Helpline
• Optional Extension
• Business Equipment

The policy will provide cover up to the limit of indemnity against legal liability for damages in respect of accidental injury to a third party person and accidental loss of or damage to Property not owned by you. With both of these covers the cost of legal representation to defend an action is included.For both of these covers the standard limit of indemnity is €5,000,000 inclusive of defence costs.

The Premium:
For NNR members the premium is as low as €95.75 for all other fitness professionals who have qualified with NCEF and are not members of the NNR the premium is €120.00. These figures include the Government Insurance Levy of 2% and our administration fee.
