IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NCEF/PEAI LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATE HOLDERS 1987- 2006

Graduates of the NCEF Level 1 from 1987-2006 were awarded the National Certificate in Exercise & Fitness Level 1 by the Physical Education Association of Ireland. All recipients of that award within those years have been required to recertify their qualification every five years by accumulating Continuing Education Credits (CEC’s).

National Council for Exercise & Fitness (NCEF) Recertification Scheme

The NCEF became an academic affiliate of the University of Limerick in June 2006.  All NCEF programmes of study are now part of Certificate and Diploma programmes in Exercise & Health Fitness of the University of Limerick. These awards do NOT require recertification.

 

We are now delighted to inform you that the NCEF plans to offer NCEF Level 1 holders currently due to re certify a unique opportunity to upgrade their NCEF Level 1 to the University of Limerick accredited Certificate in Exercise and Health Fitness (CEHF) by completing an upgrade programme plus associated requirements and assessments.

 

NEW OPTION 1: Complete the Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness (CEHF) Upgrade Course and obtain a University of Limerick accredited AWARD for LIFE

By upgrading your current NCEF Level 1 to CEHF status you will have the benefit of:

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

In order for your application to be processed for option 1 please submit ALL of the following to NCEF Head Office before Friday 22nd June 20112

1. The generic application form Please click here to download (You CAN NOT apply online)

2. Submit a Current Occupational First Aid Certificate (BASIC &/or AED will not suffice)

3.  Two Pasport Photos with your name clearly stated on the back

4. The CEHF Upgrade course fee of €795 (includes online assessment fees)

If your NCEF Level 1 qualification has expired prior to 2010/2011 Academic Year then you must also complete & return a CEHF Portfolio of Learning (POL). Please click here to download POL. OR

 

 

OPTION 2: Continue to recertify as an NCEF Level 1 Holder in the usual manner by submitting the requirements which are as follows:

1. NCEF Passport with 1000 Continuing Education Credits. (CEC’s) A replacement passport can be purchased for €10.50 (incl. P&P)

2. Current Occupational First Aid certificate. (150 CEC’s awarded-must be Occupational, First Aid- Basic First Aid will not suffice.)

3. Recertification fee €55.00 (this fee is waived to current NCEF National Register members).

CEC’s are awarded for Health and Fitness related qualifications obtained since graduating from the NCEF/PEAI Level 1 or since last date of recertification.

In order for you to recertify through option 2 please forward the above requirements to

NCEF Head Office before September 2012.
