Stage 2 Modules of the Diploma/Degree in Exercise and Health Fitness (DEHF/B.Sc.)
Stage 2 Modules such as Personal Training or Health Related Activity for Children, provide opportunities for specialisation in specific areas within the industry. Exercise and Health Fitness professionals may decide to complete only one stage 2 module and concentrate on this area e.g. completing the Team Sports Fitness module and working with sports teams or alternatively they may decide to complete the Diploma in Exercise and Health Fitness. If so then participants must accumulate credits in Stage 2 in order to proceed to Stage 3 of the Diploma in Exercise & Health Fitness (DEHF).
Those wishing to pursue the Strand 1 DEHF Tutor Education must accumulate 60 ECTS
Credits within Stage 2. The Personal Training Module is a compulsory module in this
strand. Those wishing to pursue Strand 2 DEHF Practitioner Education must accumulate
90 ECTS Credits within Stage 2. The Personal Training Module and Facility Operations

If you hold the Certificate in Exercise and Health Fitness (or equivalent) then continue your education by completing the Diploma in Exercise and Health Fitness (DEHF) NFQ Level 7 and B.Sc. In Exercise & Health Fitness. The purpose of the DEHF/B.Sc. is to provide an opportunity for aspiring exercise & health fitness professionals to follow a pathway from certificate at NFQ Level 6 to diploma/degree at NFQ Level 7/8 by accumulating European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits on a stage by stage basis.
