CONTINUING EDUCATION-
If
you hold the Certificate in Exercise and Health Fitness (or equivalent) then continue
your education by completing the Diploma in Exercise and Health Fitness (DEHF) NFQ
Level 7. The purpose of the DEHF is to provide an opportunity for aspiring exercise
& health fitness professionals to follow a pathway from certificate at NFQ Level
6 to diploma at NFQ Level 7 by accumulating European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)
credits on a stage by stage basis.

STRAND 1 TUTOR EDUCATION
STAGE 3 (DEHF)
The NCEF Tutor Education stage of the DEHF offers individuals the opportunity to research, study and practice at an advanced level in the area of Exercise & Health Fitness. Participants who are successful at this stage will be awarded the Diploma in Exercise & Health Fitness from the University of Limerick (See full DEHF pathway).
Stage 3 Details:
The Stage 3 – Strands 1 and 2 are offered during the same timescale
every second academic year. During this coming academic year, these strands will
be offered mainly at the University of Limerick campus and will run from September
to April inclusive with one full weekend per month and with a residential week. Selected
weekends may be located at venues other than the UL campus
Participants opt to complete the Tutor Education or the Practitioner Education strand. The individual details for each strand are outlined on this site.
Recognition:
60 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) towards the Diploma in Exercise & Health Fitness (DEHF). The DEHF is awarded by the University of Limerick and is placed at Level 7 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and Level 6 on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
Aim:
To provide experienced Exercise & Health Fitness Professionals with the skills, knowledge and competencies to carry out the functions of a tutor at Stages 1 (CEHF) and Stage 2 (Specialist Modules) of the Diploma in Exercise & Health Fitness (DEHF).
